The conflict over the disclosure of’probability-type items’ information (Jungbu Ilbo, February 23, page 18 reports, etc.) went beyond the boycott and spread to the’truck protest’.

According to Nexon and game users on the 1st, users of Nexon’Maple Story’ held a truck demonstration in front of Nexon headquarters located in Pangyo, Seongnam for 5 days from the 25th of last month to this day.

The truck demonstration started on the 18th of last month from the notice of item-related improvements and error corrections posted on the Maple Story official website. Users who learned that the probability was not constant through the contents of the announcement requested disclosure of probability information and meetings, but Nexon did not give a clear answer and took action directly.

When users conducted boycotts, unconnected, and truck demonstrations, Nexon posted an apology from Kang Won-ki, director of Maple Story, on the website.

In the apology, Nexon promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the problem area to improve it, and to prepare to disclose information and records by reviewing the compensation plan for additional option system reorganization and errors by the 5th.

However, despite the apology, the backlash from users has not subsided. Users are in the process of raising money for the 2nd truck demonstration, saying, “An excuse for an unintended error, not a manipulation,” “An expression that he will appease with another reward”, and “I can’t deceive the user anymore.” .

There are also many behind-the-scenes comments about Nexon’s response. This is because Netmarble responded more actively to the backlash from users due to the issue of stopping the’Fate/Grand Order’ campaign that occurred in January. The head of the headquarters, who was in charge, resigned, and when users raised issues due to continuous errors occurring in’Seven Knights 2′, the person in charge personally visited the site and apologized.

In addition to the user’s distrust problem triggered by probability-type items, the game industry is increasingly in a corner as the government and the ruling party recently pulled out their swords to regulate probability-type items.

An official from Nexon said, “We are reviewing the contents requested by users such as meetings from various angles.”
