The implementation of the 2.5th step of social distancing will ease the measures taken to suspend operations for indoor sports facilities in Busan. As a result, most indoor sports facilities can be operated, but GX-type sports are not applicable.

The city of Busan announced on the 10th that “from the 11th, the business of indoor sports facilities will be allowed to operate from 5 am to 9 pm.” However, so-called GX-type sports such as spinning, kickboxing, tebo, zumba dance, and aerobics cannot be played. Sports in the form of group classes that are mainly performed with intense body movements are classified as GX-type sports.

Since fitness, yoga, and screen golf are not GX-type sports, related facilities can be opened from the 11th.

In addition, sports facilities that can be operated must comply with rules such as prohibition of eating and drinking, and limiting the capacity of one person per 8㎡. “In the event of a violation of quarantine regulations or an infection, the’One Strike Out System’ is introduced to limit the operation of the facility,” the city added.

An official from Busan City said, “For the sake of equity with other cities and the livelihood of the industry, we inevitably allowed only minimal business. It was decided to strengthen the quarantine rules while allowing the operation.” Explained. Reporter Baeksang Kim [email protected]
