Mando wins orders for 50 million Volkswagen parts

Mando announced on the 22nd that it has successfully won orders for suspension products of 50 million units from the Volkswagen Group. Mando’s suspension delivery scale is the largest ever, and the contract amount is 1.4 trillion won. Mando is expected to produce and supply in Europe from next June to 2033.

Suspension products worth 1.4 trillion won

Mando’s suspension products will be installed in Volkswagen’s EV-specific platform MEB flagship model and Volkswagen-Audi’s internal combustion engine models. An official from Mando said, “Mando’s suspension will be used in all of Volkswagen’s main electric cars, ID3 and ID4,” and “There is a high possibility that Volkswagen will enter the electric car that will be released in the future.”

Mando CEO Cho Sung-hyun said, “This Volkswagen electric vehicle platform suspension order will be a turning point for Mando’s European business leap forward. I will.”

Volkswagen held’Power Day’ on the 15th and announced that it will become a global electric vehicle leader through technological innovations such as its own battery. The goal is to sell about 5 million electric vehicles in 2030, nine years later. Volkswagen, which is competing for No. 1 and 2 in the global electric vehicle war with Tesla, is recently expanding its contacts with Korean auto parts makers. An executive of a parts maker who requested anonymity said, “Recently, we signed a contract to supply parts for electric vehicles based on the Volkswagen MEB platform.” “Recently, Korean parts makers are actively responding to Volkswagen’s open tender.”
