[시사포커스 / 이근우 기자] Kyle Walker (30) and Gabriel Jessus (23, Manchester City) have been diagnosed with a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

The British media’Guardian’ said on the 26th (Korean time), “Man City Jessus and Walker are positive for Corona 19. Jessus and Walker are expected to miss at least two games. Man City will play against Newcastle United on the 27th and Everton on the 29th.”

According to the official website of the Manchester City club, Jessus and Walker tested positive for Corona 19 and were self-quarantined according to the guidelines of the English Premier League Secretariat and the British government. Jesus and Walker are the main players of Man City.

In the 2020-21 season EPL, Man City is only 8th in the league with 6 wins, 5 draws, 2 losses and 23 points. It is an 8 point difference from the league leader Liverpool (9 wins, 4 draws, 1 loss, 31 points), but the tight schedule with no time to rest is a big problem.

Boxing Day is ahead, starting with Newcastle on the 27th, Everton on the 29th, Chelsea on the 4th of next month, and Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on the 5th. It is a big blow for Man City that Jessus and Walker have departed from the main axis of karate.

Meanwhile, at EPL, athletes and staff who test positive for Corona 19 are subject to self-isolation for 10 days.
