AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine related 8421 cases, accounting for 98.8% of the total. There were 99 reports (1.2%) related to Pfizer vaccine. As the number of AZ vaccinations (561785) is higher than that of Pfizer vaccinations (26,099), reports of adverse reactions appear to be frequent. A significant number of 8,423 cases reported relatively mild symptoms such as muscle pain, headache, fever, and nausea, and 74 cases were suspected of anaphylaxis. Seven cases of serious suspicion such as convulsions were counted. The number of deaths was added to 16 cases, and the promotion team said, “The case was changed to death after being reported as a fever, which is a common adverse reaction.”

According to the authorities, the additional death was a man in his 50s, who was hospitalized in a nursing hospital, and died on the 13th, 18 hours after the vaccination on the 4th. It was confirmed that he had an underlying disease. Initially, it reported a minor adverse reaction due to fever, but was reported to have died afterwards, the authorities said.

The promotion team said, “It is a case in which the causality (of the vaccination department) has not been confirmed, and only serious cases such as death or anaphylaxis are planned to conduct an epidemiological investigation and evaluate the causality.”

Earlier, the promotion team tentatively concluded that the causality of the vaccination department was difficult to be recognized for the eight cases of death who had completed the first investigation. The promotion team plans to hold the second meeting of the vaccination damage investigation team, review seven additional death cases, and disclose them at a regular briefing on the 15th.
