Lim Seong-jae leaps to 7th place with Honda Classic

In the Honda Classic, the first title defense of the US PGA Tour, Lim Seong-jae successfully entered the top ten.

In the third round of the tournament held at the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Lim Sung-jae tied 4 birdies, 1 bogie, and 1 double bogie to hit 1 under par 69.

Lim Sung-jae, who recorded 205 strokes in the middle of a 5-under par, raised the ranking by nine places from a tie of 16th the previous day to a tie of 7th.

With the change from Aaron Wise (USA) to Matt Jones (Australia, 10 under par 200 strokes), Lim Seong-jae followed Jones by five strokes, leaving the possibility of winning the reversal.

Im Seong-jae, who won this tournament last year and won the first PGA Tour, will challenge for a second straight victory this year.

Im Seong-jae, who replaced the birdie on the 3rd hole (par 5) with the bogie on the 5th hole (par 3), changed the mood by making a 4.5m birdie putt on the 6th hole (par 4).

Im Seong-jae, who continued on the rise by putting a 7.5m birdie in the second half of the 12th hole (par 4), grabbed an additional birdie in the 14th hole (par 4), and once tied for fifth place and climbed.

However, he was caught in a’trap’ at the last minute and lost 2 strokes.

Since there are many pitfalls such as bunkers and water hazards, the tee shot was stuck in the bunker in the last hole 17 of the 15-17 holes called’bear traps’, and the second shot was sent to the rough.

Lim Seong-jae went off the fairway with both the 18th hole (par 5) and the tee shot, but he blocked well with a par and went into the final round with a top ten.

Jones, who set a record tie record (61 strokes) in the first round, tied 3 buddies and 2 bogies to reduce one stroke and rise to the sole lead again.

Wise shook with a 5-over par with 75 strokes, but the ranking went down only one place to a tie for 2nd place (7 under par 203 strokes).
