Kia unveiled the interior design of the new car K8 on the 4th. The K8 is the successor to the K7. It is a semi-large sedan that emphasizes refinement and luxury. It is expected to be released next month.

The interior design concept is an airport lounge. A Kia official said, “The design was inspired by the first class airport lounge. You will feel comfort and luxury in the interior space.”

The K8 is equipped with a’panoramic curved display’ for the first time in a Kia vehicle. The panoramic curved display, consisting of two 12.3-inch curved displays, smoothly connects the dashboard and infotainment system. It advocates a concise and future-oriented image.

The K8 also attempted a touch-type switchover control device that integrates an infotainment system and an air conditioning system for the first time. Media volume and room temperature can be controlled by touch while driving.

The design that considers the driver’s convenience also stands out. The height of the dashboard was lowered by 20 mm. The angles of the left and right A-pillars (the pillars that connect the front of the vehicle and the roof) and the size of the room mirror module have been optimized. The outside mirror junction was lowered to a position toward the lower door, not to the window. In its place, a triangular window (delta glass) is added to provide an open view.

The center console is an electronic shift dial (SBW) system with indirect lighting added. It is designed in a structure that gradually increases as it moves away from the driver’s body, making it easier to reach.
