The condemnation of some employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) over allegations of pre-speculation in the 3rd new city shows no signs of subsidence. Two days after the suspicion was raised, a Cheong Wa Dae national petition appeared, and recently, a boycott movement has been detected in the 3rd new city.

On the 5th, a post titled’Please withdraw from the 3rd new city’ was posted on the Cheongwadae public petition bulletin board. In the petition with only two sentences, “LH-led designation of the third new city should be withdrawn. Should I leave the fish to the cat?”, as of the afternoon of the 8th, 27,319 people expressed their intention to participate.

The deadline for the petition is April 4th, and if 200,000 people agree, you can hear the theoretical answers from the Blue House officials.

This is not the only article that calls for a thorough investigation and severe punishment for allegations of LH speculation. Earlier, on the 3rd, an article requesting government audit for allegations of speculation by LH executives and staff members in Gwangmyeong and Siheung New Towns received more than 17,000 support.

The petitioner said, “I’ve been believing in the war against speculation by looking at the 3rd new city, but it’s really collapsed,” and “I hope that this practice will be rooted in this opportunity.”

A petition to hold Byeon Chang-heum, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to account for it, also appeared. As Minister Byeon was in charge of LH, he should be held accountable for it.

Indigenous peoples of the 3rd new city also took a collective action and expressed distrust in the real estate policy of the current government. Recently, the natives of Hanam Gyosan and Namyangju Wangsuk decided to completely halt negotiations for land compensation. The main reason is that I can’t really trust the LH that works on compensation.

The Residents’ Countermeasure Committee of Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District said, “LH employees believe that there are employees who have speculated illegally, and will refuse all actions until the thorough investigation is completed.” I am resentful.”

Along with this, the Hanamgyosan Countermeasure Committee put yellow plan cards around the area to pressure the government. In the sign, there is a request, “We do not need compensation for land or obstruction, cancel it entirely!”

The situation is the same for Wangsuk Namyangju. Wangsuk 1 District Residents’ Countermeasures Committee was angry with the LH staff’s allegations of speculation on land and condemned, “I didn’t hear a knife, but it is absolutely unacceptable to engage in self-interest through information as a public institution.

It is reported that the Namyangju Wangsuk Countermeasure Committee visited LH in person and protested the next day when the suspicions arose.

In the midst of spreading public resentment, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is expected to push forward the development of the 3rd new town with the North Korean prescription, and controversy is expected.

On the 7th, Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Minister of Strategy and Finance held an emergency real estate market inspection officials meeting with Minister Byeon Chang-heum, Gu Yoon-cheol, head of the Office of State Affairs and Coordination at the Seoul government office, Kim Dae-ji, head of the National Tax Service, and Lee Jae-young, vice-minister of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.

The meeting of real estate-related ministers is usually held on Wednesday, but it is reported that the matter was convened on Sunday because it was judged to be serious.

On the day, Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “I regret to the public because of an unpleasant thing in public institutions,” and “We will certainly push ahead with housing supply measures, including the 2nd and 4th measures to supply 830,000 households,” he said.

This is because it is judged that the housing market unrest may reignite if the real estate countermeasures promotion is preliminary or reviewed.

The government convenes a meeting of related ministers on an unusual weekend to evolve, but the deteriorating public opinion has not been caught.

In a commentary on the day, spokesman Bae Joon-young of the People’s Power said, “9 out of 10 cases occurred when Minister Byun Chang-heum was LH president,” he said. “At this point, you should be investigated as the former representative of LH, the Planning and Real Estate,” and urged the resignation of Minister Byun.
