This official added, “However, we did not check why they are buying the land or what problems there are in the purchase process, and there was no need to check it.”
He added, “There was no problem with the loan process,” he said, and “the mortgage ratio (less than 70%) was applied the same as for the general public.”
An official of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation also explained on the same day, “I have already checked whether there was any problem in the lending process for the North Siheung Nonghyup immediately after the allegations of speculation by LH employees were raised.” did.
He said, “There are currently no plans to check further,” he said. “However, if the government checks the loan process of financial institutions in relation to this situation, we will be able to respond.”
It was revealed that many of the 13 LH employees who purchased land in the Gwangmyeong and Siheung New Towns, which were revealed through press conferences such as the Participation Solidarity and later, through LH’s own investigation, received intensive loans from one of the eight branches of the Nonghyup.
LH manager-level employees bought a field in Guarim-dong (2,739㎡) for 1.30 billion won in June 2019 and received a loan of 780 million won from this branch.
On the same day, four other LH employees purchased a field next door (3,996㎡) for 1.51 billion won from the owner of the same land, and three also received a total of 1.14 billion won from this branch.
It was confirmed that a loan of 1 billion won was made at this branch to four LH employees who purchased a field (5,25㎡) in Guarim-dong, Siheung-si, for 2.6 billion won with their family in February last year.
