On the 27th, LG U+ released two types of ‘5G direct plans’ for online use of 30,000 won per month. The price was lowered by more than 30% compared to the existing 5G plan, and the amount of data provided was increased by 33% compared to competitors.

‘5G Direct 37.5’ provides 12 gigabytes of data (GB, 1Mbps speed when exhausted) for KRW 37,500 per month, and ‘5G Direct 51’ offers 150 GB of data (5Mbps when exhaustion speed) and It provides an additional 10GB of dusting data.

There is also an online non-face-to-face partnership. Subscribers receive monthly discount coupons that can be used at △G Market △Auction △Market Curly △Kakao T △Yogiyo △GS25 △GS Fresh. 5G Direct 37.5 plan subscribers receive 1,000 won per month, and 5G Direct 51 subscribers receive 1,500 won per month. Subscribers of ‘5G Direct 65’ launched in February 2020 will receive a coupon of 3,000 won per month. Online affiliate coupons are provided via text message for two years. The validity period is 30 days and can be transferred to another person.

Competition between the three mobile telecommunications companies is expected to intensify as LG Uplus has released a 5G online plan for 30,000 won. On the 15th, SK Telecom launched an online-only plan that provides 9GB of 5G data (1Mbps speed when exhausted) for 38,000 won per month. KT officials did not disclose specific plans, but said, “We are watching the market situation.”
