Despite the difficult economic conditions caused by Corona 19, LG Electronics recorded an operating profit of over 3 trillion won for the first time in history.
As the number of Zipkoks increased due to Corona 19, LG Electronics’ flagship home appliances and TV sales led the earnings growth.
LG Electronics announced on the 9th that, as a result of aggregating its provisional business performance on a consolidated basis last year, sales of 63,2638 billion won and operating profit of 3.191.8 billion won. Both sales and operating profit were the highest since its inception.
The record exceeded KRW 62,3062 trillion in 2019, the highest sales performance, and KRW 2,7033 trillion in 2018, when operating profit was the highest.
Household appliances have led LG Electronics’ record-high performance. It is analyzed that the sales of premium home appliances such as stylers (clothing dryers), dryers, washing machines, and dishwashers increased, resulting in the largest operating profit in history.
TV sales, which had been sluggish in 2019, also increased sales in the fourth quarter of last year, led by OLEDs, as sales recovered to 4 trillion won in eight quarters.
The stock market predicted that LG Electronics will achieve the highest performance this year.
As the Corona 19 incident continues this year, demand for premium home appliances and TVs will continue to increase, predicting that this year’s operating profit will reach 4 trillion won.
