LG Electronics recorded the highest sales and operating profit ever last year despite the crisis of a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
According to LG Electronics on the 8th, in the fourth quarter of last year, it achieved 18 trillion 7826 billion won in sales and 647 billion won in operating profit. It is the first time in history that quarterly sales exceeded 18 trillion won.
Last year’s annual performance was also good. Last year, LG Electronics recorded 63,2638 billion won in sales and 3,1918 billion won in operating profit.
In particular, household appliances such as refrigerators and air purifiers and TV divisions led LG Electronics’ sales.
The fourth quarter sales of the H&A division, which is in charge of household appliances such as refrigerators and air purifiers, exceeded 5 trillion won for the first time. The HE business division in charge of the TV business achieved quarterly sales of more than 4 trillion won thanks to organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TVs.
Meanwhile, experts predicted that LG Electronics will continue to perform well in 2021. This is because the impact of Corona 19 continues until this year and demand for home appliances is increasing.
An official in the electronics industry said, “Last year, LG Electronics’ sales of premium home appliances and TVs grew significantly due to the temporary explosion of consumption demand, which was suppressed by the Zipcock trend due to Corona 19. “If growth continues until this year, LG Electronics’ annual operating profit There is a possibility of surpassing 4 trillion won for the first time.”
