The truth of the suspicion of sexual violence surrounding Ki Sung-yong (32) is expected to be investigated in court.
Ki Sung-yong said that after the Suwon FC match in the 2nd round of the 2021 K-League 1 held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 7th, “a lawyer was appointed for legal response”. He said, “Even if someone doesn’t talk, I want to be the first to reveal the facts.” He said, “I’m talking well with a lawyer to respond strongly.”
Ki Sung-yong said, “There will be many games in my football life in the future, and as you have seen today (due to this), there is no burden or pressure on my performance.”
Then, attorney Park Ji-hoon (Current Law Firm), who defends those who allegedly had been sexually assaulted by Ki Sung-yong, responded face-to-face.
In an interview with JoongAng Ilbo on the 8th, lawyer Park said, “We are waiting for a lawsuit to come in. I think it’s not okay to go overboard and I have the confidence to reveal the truth in court.”
Attorney Park said, “We can only reveal evidence when Ki Sung-yong sues us for defamation. We are waiting for a lawsuit to clarify the truth,” he said again. “We are not doing this to embarrass Ki Sung-yong. Victims want Ki Sung-yong to apologize with sincerity,” he said. “However, because Ki Sung-yong’s side is screaming, it is inevitable (controversy in court).”
Meanwhile, two people who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Ki Sung-yong claimed last month that they had been sexually assaulted by forced oral sex from Ki Sung-yong during the elementary school soccer club. Then Ki Sung-yong held a press conference and denied all the claims.
