“Let’s memorize only 6 digits”… A safe number instead of a favorite phone number

These days, when you enter somewhere, such as a restaurant or cafe, you leave a record of access.

There are many places that authenticate with a QR code, but when you write down your phone number, you may be worried about personal information leakage.

Now all you need to do is write down a 6-digit security number.

Reporter Junhee Lee will tell you how to check my security number.

“Beep.”

A QR code that is taken several times a day when going to a restaurant or cafe.

User information is automatically saved.

However, more than 40% of all places have to write down the phone number by hand because the terminal cannot be placed due to circumstances.

Not a few users have difficulty using QR codes.

“It’s better because I’m used to writing it down. It may be convenient for young people these days, but it’s uncomfortable for older people.”

The problem is personal information leakage.

There were cases where the number on the door was called and asked to meet, and the list itself was even traded online.

“Being exposed to crime… I took my number and contacted me like this, and there were cases like this. So I was a little worried about that.”

The government has come up with a measure.

We have introduced a personal security number that can be used instead of a phone number.

When you run the QR code, you will see 4 numbers and 2 Korean characters that were not available until now.

You can write this down instead of your phone number.

The QR code keeps changing, but the security number does not change, so you only have to memorize it once.

Since you can’t make calls or send text messages with a safe number, the risk of personal information leakage is reduced.

[오승환]

“Because it’s not my number, it’s a safe number, so I feel a little safe because it has a buffering effect once more…”

Like a phone number, if you write a false security number, you can be fined up to 100,000 won.
