Legilon, Son Heung-min, a headache that deepens isolation

[OSEN=이승우 기자] Sergio Regilon, who needs to energize Tottenham’s flanking attack, made Son Heung-min more isolated with his sluggish play.

Tottenham lost 1-2 in the 2020-2021 English Premier League (EPL) round 25 match against West Ham at the London Stadium in England on the night of the 21st (Korean time). Son Heung-min started and played full-time, but could not score.

Son Heung-min raised his tiptoe by scoring a goal during the Europa League’s Wolfsberger expedition last week, but remained silent in West Ham and London Derby. On the left side, he aimed for a hosittamtam opportunity, but was blocked by concentration checks. Tottenham’s attack also failed to provide strength to West Ham’s dense defense.

Tottenham lost their second straight after the last round Manchester City game. He stayed at 36 points and remained in 9th place in the league. On the other hand, West Ham jumped to fourth place with 45 points.

Son Heung-min was silenced by the concentration checks of the West Ham defenders. Son Heung-min led the Tottenham attack mainly on the left flank, but was blocked by the cooperative defense of the West Ham defenders, which narrowed the shooting angle.

When left wing forward Son Heung-min suffers from intensive checks, the player who should play a role was full-back Regilon. Regilon moved actively to a higher position, but made no contribution at all in the airborne.

According to the’BBC’ live commentary, Legilon was the most advanced of Tottenham players throughout the first half. The average position was ahead of Harry Kane in the front, wing forwards Son Heung-min, and Lucas Moura.

The media evaluated it as “a sign of a modern football fullback”, but there was no clue. Although Legillon actively overlapped, the West Ham defenders’ gaze turned to Son Heung-min. Two or three players stuck to Son Heung-min, who uses both feet freely and stopped shooting.

Even after the start of the second half, Regilon didn’t show any impressive moves. In the end, coach Mourinho put in Dele Ali in the 32nd minute of the second half, excluding Regilon. Tottenham’s attack rejuvenated after Regilon fell. Although it did not lead to a goal, West Ham pushed it one-sidedly in the last minute of the second half.

After the match, Regilon received a GPA of 5.9 from Whoscore. This is the lowest point among the players, along with Tottenham’s right-hand fullback Zapet Tanganga. /[email protected]
