Prosecutors who are investigating the case of Kim Hak’s ban on departure from the former vice minister of the Ministry of Justice asked Seoul Central District Prosecutor General Lee Seong-yoon to undergo a summons investigation, but it is said that he did not respond. Instead of being investigated, Chief Prosecutor Lee explained to the reporters that it was a’normal command’.

According to law enforcement officials on the 17th, the investigation team, head of the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office, Lee Jeong-seop, planned to call for an investigation last week, but Lee did not respond to the summons request. The prosecution is known to have requested at least two summons investigations during this process.

The prosecution is conducting two-track investigations against Kim’s “illegal withdrawal measures” as well as the suspicion of “external pressure to stop the investigation”.

The District Prosecutor’s Office is listed as a’respondent’ in the public interest report additionally submitted last month. Prosecutor Lee is under suspicion that Suwon dismissed the prosecutor of Suwon in June 2019, when he served as the chief prosecutor of the anti-corruption power department, when he said, “It is necessary to investigate prosecutor Lee Gyu-won of the former vice minister of the great prosecutor’s office on charges of illegal withdrawal against former vice-minister Kim. .

Regarding this suspicion, Prosecutor Lee said on the day, “The report of the Anyang branch was conducted through the usual procedures. It is not true at all that the Supreme Prosecutors’ Anti-Corruption Power Department pressed to stop the investigation or prevented the Suwon High Prosecutor from reporting it.” Emphasized.

He added, “We will review strong legal actions in the future for information that is different from the facts are reported through specific media, and information that only investigators can know is illegally disclosed.”

Earlier in the report line, Suwon District Prosecutor Moon Hong-seong (then Senior Researcher of the Anti-Corruption Division) and Seoul Northern District Prosecutor’s Office Kim Hyung-geun (Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office) were investigated as references last week. It is also reported that Dae-jin Yoon, vice president of the Judicial Research and Training Institute (Prosecutor’s Office of the Ministry of Justice) was also investigated as a reference.
