Lee Nak-yeon, together with Democratic Party representative, ordered a thorough investigation into the facts of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in relation to allegations of speculation by former and current employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) in the new cities of Gwangmyeong and Siheung.

On the 5th, Lee summoned Minister Byeon and LH President Jang Choong-mo to the National Assembly for an interview. At this meeting, Lee seems to have received a report of allegations of speculation from Minister Byeon, and ordered precautionary measures along with fact-finding.

After the interview, Minister Byeon said, “(Representative Lee) did not have any preconceived opinions, and asked for a thorough investigation in principle and to disclose the results to the public.

When asked what kind of discussions he had with CEO Lee, he only replied, “We talked about follow-up measures. We talked about specific investigations.”

Minister Byun did not respond to questions raised by some political circles regarding the request for resignation of the ministerial office and the possibility of a new city being canceled.

Earlier on the 4th, CEO Lee said, “We ask the government to punish the most severely by mobilizing all the methods permitted by the law.” I promised to revise.” On the 3rd, he strongly criticized that “if LH employees used undisclosed information to speculate, they violated the law and betrayed the people.”
