Lee Jae-sung, Baek Seung-ho and’Korean Derby’ win… Kill, advance to the quarterfinals of DFB Pokal

Germany’s Holstein Kiel’s Lee Jae-sung advances to the DFB Pokal Quarterfinal by winning the Korean Derby against Baek Seung-ho (Darmstadt).

Holstein Kiel won 7-6 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in the 2020-21 German DFB Fokal 16-finals against Darmstadt at Holstein Stadion in Kiel, Germany on the 3rd (Korean time), and rose to the quarterfinals.

Lee Jae-seong was the central midfielder of Holstein Kiel and played all 120 minutes from the start and overtime to lead the team’s victory. He also scored as the team’s fifth kicker in the penalty shootout.

Darmstadt’s Baek Seung-ho started the game on the bench and replaced Tobias Campe in the second half of the 37th minute, which was 0-1, and played about 40 minutes until overtime. Baek Seung-ho also appeared as Darmstadt’s 5th kicker in the penalty shootout and scored the goal.

Holstein Kiel, who defeated’defending champion’ Bayern Munich in the final of 32, succeeded in defeating Darmstadt with the opening goal of Johnny Serra in the 13th minute. After receiving a pass from Fabian Rees, Sarah broke through a single dribble and scored the first goal with a roving shot that passed the opponent’s goalkeeper key.

After conceding, Darmstadt replaced five players, including Baek Seung-ho and Serdar Dursoon. The substitution was successful. The 7th kicker from both teams failed to score the same, but the 8th kicker scored again and tied 6-6.

Eventually, the game ended at the 9th kicker. First, Darmstadt’s Tim Skarke failed to score, while Holstein’s Simon Lorenz scored calmly and finished the fierce game.
