Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung said, “If you did something bad, you should take the corresponding responsibility” regarding the amnesty of the two former Presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye. In the meantime, he kept saying that it could put a burden on President Moon Jae-in, but in fact he officially expressed his opposition to the amnesty. He showed a different position from Lee Nak-yeon, the Democratic Party’s leader, who first brought out amnesty as a contender for the presidential power of the same party.

Gyeonggi Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong emphasized that the two former presidents should take responsibility for their mistakes.

He also said that it is difficult for the people to understand without the reflection of the parties.
I was virtually opposed to the amnesty.

This is a different position from Lee Nak-yeon, the Democratic Party’s leader, who first brought out the pardon for’national unity’.
Until now, Governor Lee has been spared saying that the issue of pardon is putting a burden on the President.

Earlier, the Democratic Party’s leadership stepped back, saying,’I will watch the Supreme Court’s ruling against the re-appraisal of former President Park Geun-hye, as opposition within the party intensified.
It is interpreted that this governor, who is considered as the leader of the party, has set out to actively embrace supporters.
In the meantime, the power of the people criticized President Moon Jae-in’s New Year’s speech, saying that the position on the amnesty was omitted.
