On the 14th, Governor Lee posted a post on his Facebook page titled “Corona Jangbaljang is still in jail” and sentenced him to one year in prison for stealing eggs after starving for more than a week because the soup kitchen was closed and he could not find a job. He said, “The end of this month is due to his detention, but he has no place to live, no means of living, and no family, so he will be detained further.” He said, “I asked him to find out if there is a welfare policy to apply to him, and this person is likely to be a welfare target. “If you judge through interviews and surveys, you can make a living as well as provide housing measures.” He said, “I will visit the detention center at the beginning of this week to listen to the circumstances, and if I agree, we will carry out welfare measures through investigation and examination.”
He also promised, “Because it takes 30 to 60 days for the evaluation, we will also review emergency livelihood advance payments before making a decision, temporarily stay in a living facility for the homeless, and come up with a multilateral and integrated support plan, such as linking support projects for the next-level class or job support,” he promised.
Governor Lee said, “The problem I want to talk about is the limitations and blind spots of the selective welfare system. She said, “A livelihood is guaranteed, but this person did not know this and eventually resulted in a crime of being sentenced to one year in prison.”
