President Moon Jae-in’s son Jun-yong (38) received 14 million won from the Seoul Foundation’s’Corona 19 Damage Emergency Art Support’, Lee Hye-hoon said, “Only 46 out of 281 applications were selected, resulting in 84% damage. Artists did not receive any support.”

On the same day, former lawmaker Lee suggested like this by posting a post titled “Mr. Jun-Yong Moon, would it be better to return the corona damage subsidy?”

Rep. Lee said, “The fact that the President’s eldest son applied for a subsidy as a corona victim and received 14 million won needs to be pointed out from two aspects. First, even if it is received based on the results of a normal examination, Are you acting? Second, he pointed out, “Is the review process and results reasonable in terms of standards and procedures?”

Representative Lee said, “The first problem is that the people are already struggling all day, so let’s look at the second problem.” “The Seoul City side said that the president’s eldest son was paid 14 million won in the name of support for corona victims. The selection was made on the basis of the three exhibition cancellations due to the adequacy and validity of the project. He explained that he was called by focusing on qualitative damage rather than quantitative facts.’

Regarding this, former lawmaker Lee said, “The Seoul Metropolitan Government’s response that qualitative damage was emphasized rather than quantitative facts raises a lot of doubts.” He said, “If there are many subjective judgments of judges that are difficult to explain with objective data, It is because it is an answer.”

He also said, “The support for corona victims is an urgent input of the national blood tax in consideration of the fact that there are many artists that are difficult to connect with because of the characteristics of the art field, and that the corona damage is a big field.” Of the 281 applications, only 46 were selected, and 84% of the victims of the artists did not receive any support.”

In addition, he pointed out that “the amount of support per case is from 6 million won to 14 million won, and Jun-yong Moon received the highest amount of 14 million won.”

At the same time, former lawmaker Lee said, “The Seoul City side must disclose in detail the screening criteria, points, and grounds, the status of the dropouts among similar victims, the reasons for dropping out, and the grounds, etc. in order to resolve the national suspicion that Jun-yong Moon’s selection was appropriate in terms of procedures and standards.” Insisted.

“Mr. Jun-Yong Moon, wouldn’t it be good to return the support fund?”

He also said, “It is necessary to clearly disclose the title, content, location, schedule, etc. of each of the exhibitions planned to be held for the’three exhibition cancellations’ presented as the basis for the support of Mr. Moon. “Because we are currently holding an exhibition called’Beyond the Gaze, Between Somewhere’, known as one of them.”

He speculated that “there is a high possibility that the exhibition was canceled at that time and received subsidies because it does not normally open an exhibition with the same title.”

He then asked, “Wouldn’t it be appropriate to return the corona damage subsidies that have already been received?”

Earlier, on the 21st, the Seoul Cultural Foundation under the subsidiary of Seoul said, “Using an additional budget of 4.5 billion won, a total of 254 art organizations (persons) were selected to provide emergency support, and Moon was one of them.” He added, “It is not a poverty or livelihood, but a support project to relieve the damage from the suspension of artistic activities.” He added, “We selected it based on the appropriateness and validity of the project, canceling three exhibitions due to Corona 19.”

As Moon’s exhibition became a hot topic that day, Moon said, “It seems to be mistaken, but the corona support fund of 14 million won is not money given as a profit to the artist, but money that the artist uses for the exhibition/production.” It is to manage and allow subsidies to go back to the entire art industry affected by the coronavirus.” He added, “For this purpose, the use rules were set from the beginning, and the plan was presented in detail, and I was selected after judging whether it is appropriate,” he said. “In other words, I chose someone who can use it properly.”
