The Navien Clean Ventilation System Kitchen Plus, newly introduced by Kyungdong Navien, is a product that inherits the merits of the Navien Clean Ventilation System, which has both air and clean ventilation functions. Kitchen Plus realizes optimal performance when the Navien clean ventilation system, three-dimensional (3D) air hood, and specialized duct for the kitchen intensive air supply are applied as one system. The 3D air hood prevents the spread of contaminants generated during cooking into the house by forming air curtains in three directions, both sides and front of the range hood. The 3D air hood is equipped with dual thermal sensors, so when cooking starts, the system automatically operates and the machine adjusts the air volume by itself according to the cooking situation. When cooking is finished, it is automatically shut down after removing ultrafine dust and various harmful substances left in the kitchen, so user convenience is high.
Kyungdong Navien conducted a joint study on the ultrafine dust reduction performance of Kitchen Plus with Seoul National University, Seoul National University, and Pennsylvania State University. As for the experimental standard, the method of cooking grilled mackerel was adopted by the Korean Institute of Environmental Sciences by the Ministry of Environment. A comparative analysis was conducted between the case of operating the general ventilation system and range hood during cooking and the case of using Kitchen Plus through a 3D air hood connected to a clean ventilation system. As a result of extending the range hood for 30 minutes according to the standards recommended by the Ministry of Environment after a total of 13 minutes of cooking time, the total amount of ultrafine dust in the kitchen and living room was significantly reduced when using Kitchen Plus, resulting in a’good’ level in a faster time. Recovered. The total amount of ultrafine dust in the kitchen decreased by 66% on average compared to the case where the air supply mode of the general ventilation system and the range hood were operated at the same time. The living room also decreased by 57%.
Compared to the ventilation mode and range hood of the general ventilation system, the total amount of ultrafine dust decreased by 54% and 70% in the kitchen and living room, respectively, when using Kitchen Plus. Through the research, Kyungdong Navien revealed that using Kitchen Plus can reduce the exposure of fine dust to not only cooks who cook directly in the kitchen, but also children living in the living room.
Kim Si-hwan, head of the marketing division of Kyungdong Navien, said, “It is dangerous because when cooking, up to 60 times more harmful substances are generated than usual, and harmful substances spread to all rooms, such as living rooms, within a short period of time. “It will be the ultimate solution to manage the system,” he said. “Kitchen Plus will leap to a new standard for ventilation systems by quickly and comfortably managing not only the kitchen but also the entire indoor air quality.”
