The’G7 Government Joint Response Team (TF)’ was launched to prepare for the G7 Summit held in the UK this June.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 22nd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the G7 Government Joint TF on this day and held the first meeting to prepare effective countermeasures to the agenda of this year’s summit.

The meeting was presided over by G7 Sherpa Choi, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology, Information and Communication, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Environment, and Disease Management Administration.

Korea will participate with Australia and India at the G7 Summit held in Cornwall, UK on June 11-13 this year at the invitation of the UK, the chairman.

The UK invited us and said, “Under the common value of an open and democratic society, we expect Korea to contribute to solving urgent challenges facing humanity, such as better reconstruction for all, prevention of new epidemics, and response to climate change.” .

The ministries attending the conference discussed the three agendas we participate in during this year’s summit: health cooperation, climate change response, and democratic values.

Participating ministries actively exchanged opinions on ways to contribute to achieving a balanced quarantine and economy, and actively implementing the Korean version of the New Deal and the 2050 Carbon Neutral Declaration.

In particular, to contribute to the achievements of the 26th Climate Change Conference (COP26) by linking the outcomes of the’Solarship for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit’ scheduled to be held in Seoul this May to the G7 Summit. I decided to link.

In addition, it was decided to seek a policy direction in which Korea can share its responses to Corona 19 with the participating countries through democratic values ​​such as openness and transparency.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “We plan to discover ways to contribute to each detailed agenda that can be linked to our policy stance, and to prepare our position for constructive discussion at the summit.”
