As a group of 27 workers at Gamcheon Port in Busan were confirmed to be infected with Corona 19, it is expected that a disruption in unloading of seafood will occur.

According to the Busan Port Transport Union on the 27th, a total of 27 people were confirmed with Corona 19 between the 26th and 27th. This was revealed in the process of conducting an inspection through an epidemiological investigation after two unloading workers working at Gamcheon Port were tested positive on the 25th. Currently, the quarantine authorities are investigating the first confirmed infection route.

As of 2 pm on the 27th, 321 people were tested, and the results were as follows: 27 positive and 258 negative. More than 40 people are still waiting for the results, so there is a high probability that more infections will occur. In addition, there is a possibility that the number of confirmed cases will increase further depending on the movement of the confirmed cases.

After a large number of confirmed cases occurred in Busan’s Gamcheon Port through Russian ships in July, the industry was uneasy as the large-scale infection spread again.

An official from the Busan Port Transport Union said, “We are preparing to ensure there is no disruption in the unloading operation, but depending on the future situation, there may be a disruption in the unloading operation.”
