Gwangju FC in the K-League 1 in the professional football lost their second straight defeat in a’parent match’ with FC Seoul due to’lack of backsight’.

Gwangju FC lost to FC Seoul 1-2 in an away game in the 5th round of 2021 of the HanawonQ K League 1 held at 7:30 pm on the 17th at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Gwangju, who fell in a second straight victory, sat down from 8th to 9th, staying at 1 win and 4 loss and 3 points. On the other hand, Seoul, which added 3 points, rose to fourth place with 3 wins, 2 losses, and 9 points.

This day’s game drew attention as the first confrontation of the managers who changed positions. Coach Ho-young Kim, who achieved good results (4 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses) as a manager in Seoul last season, stepped up to the Gwangju command tower. Coach Jin-seop Park, who led the K-League 2 championship and promotion to Gwangju and the first final A advance, took the baton in Seoul.

The result was that Seoul coach Park Jin-seop smiled of victory thanks to the goals of Na Sang-ho and Ki Sung-yong from Kumho High School in Gwangju.

Gwangju increased its share of the ball even though it was an away game in the first half of the day and aimed for the Seoul goal with aggressive play. In the 6th minute of the first half, Kim Jong-woo hit his first shot, but it rolled weakly and was held by goalkeeper Yang Han-bin in Seoul. In the 23rd minute of the first half, Lee Min-gi’s shot was blocked by Seoul defender Kim Jin-ya.

Gwangju gave Seoul the initiative in the 24th minute of the first half. In the 24th minute of the first half, Seoul Na Sang-ho and Jo Young-wook faced a concession crisis, but they blocked them with physical defense. In the 30th minute of the first half, Osmar’s powerful left-footed shot was super-saved by a punching shot by goalkeeper Yoon Bo-sang.

Gwangju, overcoming the concession crisis, successfully scored the first goal in the 34th minute of the first half. Kim Ju-gong cleverly fouled in the opponent’s penalty box and scored the penalty kick directly.

After scoring, Gwangju was pushed back by Seoul’s offensive and allowed an equalizer. In the 40th minute of the first half, after Na Sang-ho in Seoul broke through the dribble alone, a shot with a strong right foot hit Lee Min-gi’s body in Gwangju and refracted.

At the start of the second half, Gwangju strengthened the attack by subtracting Kim Jong-woo and introducing Felipe. Seoul also aimed for a reversal with Ki Sung-yong.

Gwangju was on the defensive in the early second half. In the 3rd minute of the second half, Jo Young-wook, Go Kwang-min in the 6th minute, and Ki Sung-yong in the 7th minute of the second half were allowed to shoot, but they blocked with a concentrated defense. In the 10th minute of the second half, Ki Sung-yong’s strong right-footed shot towards the corner of the goal was handed over to goalkeeper Yoon Bo-sang.

Gwangju counterattacked with Felipe in the 25th minute and Kim Jugong in the 26th minute, but it did not lead to a goal.

After being pushed back by Seoul’s offensive, in the 38th minute of the second half, he knelt with the winning goal for Ki Sung-yong in Seoul.
