Rep. Kwon appeared on MBC radio’Kim Jong-bae’s attention’ on the morning of that day, saying, “I respect the judgment of the judiciary.” He stressed.
In particular, in relation to the final judgment of 20 years in prison, he said, “I feel like it was too much,” he said. He explained, “However, since the investigation revealed various charges and a trial was made, we must all respect the Korean judicial system.”
He also pointed out that the opposition is higher, he said, “There is no enemy that has ever had high public opinions in favor of all pardon polls.” He said, “It is necessary to put emphasis on the thought of 30-40% that it is necessary for national integration.” In addition, he added, “If you look at the investigation of the two former presidents in some respects, the aspect of political retaliation cannot be ruled out.”
Rather, when asked if there was a conflict, he said, “It is natural to oppose the pardon in the public courts,” and predicted that “if the pardon is given because of the nature, public opinion will change again.” In addition, with regard to the point that President Moon Jae-in pledged not to pardon the five crimes, such as bribery, misappropriation, and embezzlement, that pardon would violate the pledge, “It is a matter to be decided by the President.” We talk in terms of not exercising at will, but will all our pledges be kept?” He explained, “If necessary, and if circumstances and conditions change, that degree will be fully understandable.”
