Kumho Petrochemical held a board meeting on the 9th and revealed five director candidates.

With the expiration of five of Kumho Petrochemical’s ten directors this year, Kumho Petrochemical explained that it has selected four outside directors and one internal director with expertise in fields such as finance, legal, ESG, gender diversity, and sales. .

As the first candidate for an outside director, Jeong-mi Lee, attorney at Logos Law Firm, was recommended. After completing the 16th Judicial Research and Training Institute, Lee served as a Constitutional Judge at the Constitutional Court until 2017 after serving as a Deputy Judge at the Seoul Central District Court. As a representative female leader who served as the second female constitutional judge in history as well as legal expertise and acting as the head of the Constitutional Court twice, with an open ESG policy based on legal principles, a system for diversity and socially underprivileged within the organization was established. The second candidate is Professor Park Soon-ae, Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University. Prof. Park has served as a member of the Ministry of Environment’s Central Environmental Conservation Advisory Committee, and is currently a member of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy’s New and Renewable Energy Policy Council, and a vice-chairman of the Environmental Policy Association. He is an expert in the field of environmental policy. Professor Park is expected to play an important role in embracing his experiences in environmental policy and performance management as ESG policies and discussing concrete implementation plans.

As the third candidate, Do-sung Choi, a seat professor at Gachon University’s Business School, was recommended. Professor Choi served as the president of the Korea Securities Research Institute during his tenure as a professor of business administration at Seoul National University. Afterwards, he worked as a member of the Bank of Korea Finance and Monetary Committee, working as an expert in finance/finance. He is currently serving as the director of Impact Finance Korea, which distributes resources for social/environmental projects, and is expected to provide insights on sustainable economic growth. Professor Choi is also a candidate for a member of the Audit Committee.

Meanwhile, as the executive director, Jong-hoon Baek, executive director of the sales division of Kumho Petrochemical, was recommended as a candidate.
