On the 4th, the two companies announced that they had signed a’MOU for enhancing K-League value and fostering sky sports channels’ at the KT office building in Gwanghwamun on the morning of that day. The signing ceremony was attended by major officials, including KT Lee Sang-mo, CEO Kang Kook-hyun, KT customer division president, Yoon Yong-pil, SkyTV president, and Kwon Oh-gap, president of the Professional Football Federation.

Through this agreement, KT splits up the sports channel’Sky Sports’ owned by SkyTV, and the Professional Football Federation invests corresponding cash to run a K-League-centered broadcasting channel business. ) Decided to establish.

KT supports the production of K-League broadcasts that are more colorful and more vibrant than before by using the group’s media platform capabilities and ICT technology. In addition, it plans to develop contents in novel formats such as soccer education programs and sports entertainment programs and provide them to viewers through the Sky Sports channel.

The joint goal of the KT Group and the Professional Football Federation is to grow Sky Sports into a global-level comprehensive sports channel based on competitive professional soccer content. Attention is drawn to the new sports boom that the two companies will present together.

KT CEO Sue Su-mo said, “As a result of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), it is difficult to see players running on the ground directly at the stadium, so the role of sports broadcasting technology and media has become more important. “We will make full use of the KT Group’s media platform capabilities so that all Koreans can enjoy the heat of the game in their homes.”
