This tournament is a 100 million won tournament created by President Koo through private finances. The Senior Tour is for players aged 50 and over. It was held in October of last year, and one of the contestants (Park Seung-ryong) died of a myocardial infarction, so it was stopped and opened again. It is a convention to commemorate the deceased, and President Koo filled the place of the deceased.

Chairman Koo, the chairman of Yesco, is full of enthusiasm. It is evaluated that he led the tour staggered by Corona 19 by attracting sponsors or appearing privately. In order to promote the tour, he actively engaged in social media such as Facebook and Instagram. As I worked a lot, there wasn’t even a cracking plate.

Listed on Instagram the company name sponsored only by KLPGA, it was uploaded and deleted as “You’re all dead haha, a male professional public enemy”. While opening the Korean Women’s Open, (male) also publicly sniped the Korean Golf Association, which does not open the Korean Open. It was noisy when he broke the embargo and reported on Facebook that Choi Gyeong-ju was absent from the contest.

There was also a criticism of “the chairman who likes to get attention”, but it was also evaluated as “the best star in KPGA who makes news in KPGA where there is no talk because it is not popular”.

KPGA officials believe that participation in this event is also a sacrifice for Koo to create another topic. Chairman Koo posted several times on social media that he was participating, and expressed his feelings of concern and regret.

Chairman Koo usually posted his golf score on social media, but he was a single in his early mid-70s. It is an official competition with a lot of pressure and is expected to be in the mid-80s as it competes with relatively young players.

However, it was 96 strokes. In the first 9 holes, he hit 52 shots to exceed 100 shots, but he blocked it with 44 shots in the second half and did not go to 100.

After the game, Chairman Koo Ja-cheol said, “I was really nervous when I tee-shot in the first hole. So, the tee shot went to the penalty area. It was difficult to play because of the strong wind. I trained hard ahead of the competition, but it is regrettable that I couldn’t show 100% of them. I was nervous throughout the 18th hole,” he said.

“The biggest goal was not to interfere with the play of the players playing together. Thank you for the consideration of your companions. Fortunately, all three players succeeded in advancing to the final round. After all, the professional world is an untouchable place. It’s wonderful,” he said.

Chairman Koo boasted a lot on social media about how outstanding KPGA players are. In this tournament, I personally proved how outstanding KPGA players are. The competition is round 2 and the cut passes after round 1 are decided. The lead was Kim Jong-deok (60) with a 4-under par, and the cut line was a 5-over par. Chairman Koo dropped out of the cut to 122nd place out of 131 people.
