KOTRA’Bone Global’ to grow startups-Maeil Economy

Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will start fostering this global startup. Born Global refers to a company that targets foreign markets from the initial stage of startup.

On the 3rd, KOTRA announced on the 16th that it will operate a’this global specialized training course’ to strengthen the ability of early domestic startups to enter foreign markets for a month. KOTRA organized this training with Yozma Group Korea, a Korean subsidiary of Yozma Group, a global venture capital that produced 24 NASDAQ listed companies by January of this year.

In education, the contents necessary for initial startups are covered. It informs you of business model enhancement and profit creation methods, financial statements preparation method, investment attraction pitching method, and market development strategy using e-commerce platform.

In addition, the Yozma Group Korea and KOTRA Export Expert Committee support one-on-one customized mentoring. Through a smartphone application that enables interviews with potential foreign consumers through mobile phones, it provides an opportunity for mobile live interviews to find out improvements and marketability of products and services currently being developed.

The subjects of this training are less than’Free Series A'(investment attraction KRW 1 billion), and are developing or possessing technologies, products, and services that can enter foreign markets and are rated as’potential (corresponding to lack)’ in the global competency diagnosis It is a startup that received Startup Global Competency Diagnosis is a questionnaire-based diagnosis tool developed by KOTRA last year. It can measure the level of competency in foreign markets for four areas: strategy, export, investment attraction, and global startup.

Start-ups who have completed this training can enter crowdfunding platforms in the US, Japan, and Taiwan, etc., or receive KOTRA startup support services in stages, such as Amazon Rocket Start and Global Open Innovation, if they wish. Yozma Group Korea plans to review investments in promising startups discovered in this education.
