The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) operates a training course for startups in the early stages of start-ups targeting overseas markets.

According to KOTRA on the 3rd, the’Global Professional Training Course’, which is held for a month from the 16th of this month, is a program to strengthen the ability of early domestic startups to enter overseas markets.

KOTRA organized this training with Yozma Group Korea, a Korean subsidiary of Yozma Group, a global venture capital (VC) that produced a total of 24 NASDAQ listed companies. This training, which covers the contents necessary for initial startups, covers business model enhancement and profit creation, financial statements, investment attraction pitching, and market development strategies using e-commerce platforms.

In addition, it supports one-on-one customized mentoring with Yozma Group Korea and KOTRA Export Experts. In addition, it provides an opportunity for mobile live interviews to check the marketability and technical suitability of products and services under development through an app that allows foreign potential consumers to be interviewed on a mobile phone and discover improvements.

The subjects of this training are Free Series A companies with less than 1 billion won in investment, and must be developing or possessing technologies, products and services that can enter overseas markets. In addition, it must be a startup that has received a’potential (corresponding to lack)’ rating in the startup global competency diagnosis. Startup Global Competency Diagnosis is a questionnaire-based diagnosis tool developed by KOTRA last year. It can measure the competency level for overseas expansion in four areas: strategy, export, investment attraction, and global start-up.

Startups that have completed this training can enter crowdfunding platforms such as the US, Japan, and Taiwan, as well as receive KOTRA startup support services in stages, such as Amazon Rocket Start and Global Open Innovation, if desired. And Yozma Group Korea is planning to review investments in promising startups discovered in this education. Tae-ho Kim, head of KOTRA’s Small and Medium Business Division, emphasized, “Our promising start-ups should acquire and expand global capabilities through this training, and actively utilize the opportunities to advance overseas after Corona 19.”
