[에너지경제신문=나유라 기자] Finance Commissioner Eun Seong-soo said, “Anxiety and expectations are intersecting” regarding the KOSPI’s breakthrough of the 3100 line.
According to the Financial Services Commission on the 8th, Chairman Eun said at the weekly business meeting on the day, “The reason that the stock index exceeded the 3000 line is largely due to the recovery of our economy and corporate performance.” “The economic growth rate of last year is expected to be the highest.”
On this day, KOSPI ended at 3152.18, up 120.50 points (3.97%) from the previous day.
The KOSPI surpassed the 3100 mark in a day after landing at the 3000 mark for the first time in history based on the closing price the day before. The rise on this day was the second largest since March 24 last year (127.51 points).
Chairman Eun said, “The government also prevented economic shock and financial market instability early with preemptive and bold economic measures and quarantine measures, and the people also actively participated in the market and became one of the pillars of our stock market.”
However, there was also a cautious argument over the recent steep rise in the KOSPI. Currently, the KOSPI is continuing its upward trend based on abundant liquidity even in the aftermath of Corona 19, and there are concerns that the gap between the real economy and asset prices may widen, leading to an adjustment.
Regarding this, Chairman Eun emphasized, “In the age of 3000 points in the stock price, anxiety and expectations are intersecting,” and “I will actively try to maintain and reinforce this positive trend.”
Chairman Eun said, “We will continue to innovate to make our capital market an attractive investment destination and strengthen our policy efforts so that market liquidity can flow into the real world.”
