Shen Sun-nu (咸順女, Ham Sun-nyeo), representative of the Korean-Chinese people at the National People’s Congress of China (Neonin University). Every time he enters the People’s Congress where the conference is held, he feels new. At the 4th meeting of the 13th NPC currently being held in Beijing, she said that she is fulfilling her social responsibilities with the weight of her status as a representative of the NPC.

Shen Sun-nu, a native of the Chosun Autonomous Region in Yanbian in Jilin Province, is a person with thick bones in the field of culture and arts. He has various titles, including vice-chairman of the Chinese Dancers Association and vice-chairman of the Chinese Dancers’ Association, Jilin Yanbian Gamudan. It was also selected as the’Excellent Youth’ fostered by the state. His other status is the representative of the Chosun-jok at the Jeonin University. He recalled that he was proud to enter the People’s Congress for the first time in 1988, wearing traditional Korean-Chinese costumes.

Shen Sun-Nu was elected as the representative of the Jilin Province People’s Congress in 2003, and was elected as the 11th in 2008 and the 13th NPC in 2018. A total of 11 Korean-Chinese representatives participated in the NPC this year with him.

Shen Sun-Nu listened to the public sentiment while working as the representative of Jeon In University. The agenda items he submitted cover a wide range from cultural protection of ethnic minorities to the development of young talent and social welfare.

Last year, at both meetings (the National People’s Congress and the People’s Political Conference of China), he submitted one agenda and two proposals. In particular, a number of items proposed in the’Agenda on Revision of the Protection Act for Minors’ have already been adopted. Shen said that as a representative of ethnic minorities, he felt the excellence of the national system, and said that he would continue to work with full responsibilities.

Meanwhile, there were 9 Korean-Chinese members who attended this year’s Chinese People’s Political Negotiation Conference. One of them is the National Political Association member and vice-chairman of the Yanbian Korean Autonomy Committee. He said that in the past year, he had prepared more, but sometimes it reached 10 or so.

Political council members at all levels of China are negotiating before and in the process of deciding on national and local government policies. To this end, the Commissioner of Quan has regularly traveled to each region, recording specific problems one by one, and preparing a large amount of research reports.

Whenever the two meetings are held, the representative of Shen Sun-Nu and the Commissioner Zhu San-Zi make every effort to prepare. As a member of the Korean-Chinese, Commissioner Qi Seon-zi showed pride in fulfilling his responsibilities and mission in order not to abandon the trust of all walks of life.
