Amidst a series of hate crimes targeting Asians in the United States, the fact that a Korean couple in their 50s was gang assaulted by teenagers is shocking to know.

CNN reported that Washington state police officers in Tacoma arrested a 15-year-old boy for assaulting an Asian couple and charged with second-degree assault.

Reportedly, on November 19 last year in Tacoma, the boy in a red top and black pants is accused of hitting a 56-year-old man after running towards an Asian couple on the road.

When the video was released, the woman who seemed to be a wife shouted “don’t” or “help me” in Korean, and other teenagers watched it from the side.

The victims reported to the police immediately after the incident, but a video of the incident was recently posted on social media, allowing the suspect to be arrested in about four months.

Another video reveals that the perpetrator swears at the victim, swinging his fists and shoving them away.

The husband of these Korean couples said that several teenagers pushed themselves to the ground, knocked them down, and punched them, causing severe injuries to the chest and face.

The police were unable to properly handle the case after receiving the case, and the recently circulated video accelerated the investigation.

The victim’s relative informed the Tacoma police that the person in the video was his relative.

After confirming the suspect’s identity through a video, the police arrested him in court after finding out that he was appearing in court on charges of a separate robbery on the 2nd.

“The victims have never seen the perpetrators, and there have been no quarrels,” police said, and said the Pier County prosecutor’s office will decide whether to prosecute the case as a hate crime.

The man, the victim of the incident, said in a recent interview with local broadcaster KIRO that he forgives the perpetrators, but he wants the case of violence targeting Asians to be properly investigated.
