Korea Energy Agency successfully concludes winter appropriate temperature campaign with the public-Cheonji Ilbo

[천지일보=김정자 기자] The Korea Energy Agency (CEO Kim Chang-seop) conducted a variety of on-tact public participation campaigns in consideration of the cold weather this winter and the crisis of the spread of Corona 19.

The Corporation has reorganized the energy conservation campaign that has been promoted so far into the’Appropriate Temperature Campaign’ and promoted a concise message to set an appropriate indoor temperature and promoted various events to form a public consensus and expand participation.

The appropriate temperature campaign focused on practice in daily life so that all age groups could be together. Participatory events using personal SNS, webtoons, and YouTube contents using trot singers and social influencers, etc., were promoted that a wide range of age groups could relate to.

In particular, the energy conservation TV campaign in winter expressed the appropriate indoor temperature in winter with intuitive and repetitive lyrics and dances, taking into account the national fatigue of energy conservation.

In connection with this, the’This Winter, I’m 20 degrees’ challenge, a campaign to keep the appropriate winter temperature in which the public can directly participate, was held.

The 20° Challenge, which has been held for about a month since December last year, is a challenge in which the people dance 20 degrees to the campaign sound source or make a rap in order to strengthen their determination to practice energy conservation in winter. 58 videos featuring various age groups, from children to the elderly, were received, and about 140,000 views were recorded, including campaign videos.

The 13 award-winning works reflecting the opinions of the people can be found on the YouTube page of the Korea Energy Agency.

Han Young-bae, head of the Korea Energy Agency’s public relations office, said, “By practicing one action, we can respond to crises such as climate change and fine dust and realize a low-carbon society.”
