Korea Employment Information Service introduces research results of’the future profession of legal workers’

From September to October last year, 141 lawyers and 71 law graduate students were surveyed for future legal market prospects, job changes, and required competencies. By analyzing the results of the survey, we derived the core competencies required of future lawyers.

After 10 years, the probability of occurrence for each scenario that could occur in the legal market was evaluated on a 5-point scale and converted into a 100-point scale. As a result, the’New Legal Service Appearance’ was the highest with 81.1 points. ‘The appearance of a star attorney’ (78.9 points),’the appearance of artificial intelligence judgment as an auxiliary means’ (77.5 points), and’increase the role of lawyer’ (76.2 points) appeared in order.

Ten years later, as a result of rating the need for lawyer competency to respond to changes in the legal market on a 100-point basis, the’judgment and decision-making ability’ recorded the highest number with an average of 85.8 points.

Next was’Situational Understanding and Strategic Thinking Ability’ (84.2 points),’Korean Language Proficiency’ (82.4 points),’Inclusive Interpersonal Relationships and Networking Ability’ (82.2 points), followed by’Foreign Language Proficiency’ (62.5 points). ) And so on were relatively low.

When asked about the level of preparation of each respondent’s current competency in responding to changes in the legal market 10 years later,’work ethics’ was the highest with 70.4 points on an average of 100 points. ‘Korean language ability’ (67.3 points),’judgment and decision-making ability’ (64.9 points), and’diversity tolerance’ (64.6 points) were followed.

In pedagogy,’Borich’ and’The Locus for Focus Model’ were used to derive educational priorities.

The core competencies required of future lawyers are’marketing and management consulting ability’,’differentiation strategy ability’,’data analysis and utilization ability’,’situational understanding and strategic thinking’,’judgment and decision-making ability’,’inclusive interpersonal skills.
