Heo Min, 44, chairman of the board of Kiwoom Heroes, apologized for the recent controversy. They also announced their intention to withdraw from the legal response to the disciplinary action of KBO.

KBO held the KBO Reward and Punishment Committee on the 22nd and punished Chairman Huh for two months of suspension. Chairman Huh caused controversy while playing catchball or live pitching with players in a situation other than the official training of the club. He said he used his position as the club chairman to instruct the players to do unfair training.

Chairman Heo Min delivered an apology through the club on the 31st. Chairman Huh said, “I politely apologize to the players and baseball officials who may have suffered from the discomfort, and to the fans who are the foundation of the KBO League.” “As the chairman of a club’s board of directors, it was a very inappropriate and inconvenient act. We fully sympathize with the internal and external concerns about the baseball world. We apologize for missing the official apology period at the time of the controversy.” Added.

Chairman Heo Min and Kiwoom Heroes showed a position that they would receive legal interpretation according to the discipline after the punishment was decided. But when public opinion worsened, he stepped back. Chairman Huh said, “I don’t think adding any more controversy will help in the development of professional baseball. I apologize for any confusion over this part.”

On this day, Heroes announced that it had appointed Huh Hong, former CEO of NHN Services, as the representative director of the vacant club. Chairman Heo Min said, “After the period of suspension, we will faithfully fulfill only the original role of the chairman of the club’s board of directors. If the nominee for the new CEO announced today is approved at the general shareholders’ meeting, we will provide support for responsible management.”
