The Korea Volleyball Association said, “This VNL is the test stage of the national team ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and a total of 16 teams will participate.
Through this competition, 12 finalists will be selected to participate in the Olympics,” he explained.
The Korean women’s volleyball team, ranked 10th in the world, competes in VNL with China, the United States, Brazil, Italy, Turkey, Serbia, Japan, Russia, Dominican Republic, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Belgium and Thailand.
Coach Stefano Lavarini is scheduled to enter the country immediately after his team Igor Novara’s schedule is over and complete self-quarantine for two weeks before joining the squad.
Hyundai E&C coach Kang Sung-hyung, who was the head coach of the women’s national team before Labarini’s joining the team, will lead the training of the national team.
The women’s volleyball team is scheduled to convene on April 23rd.
After training at Jincheon Athlete’s Village, on May 21, he headed to Rimini, Italy.
