Ahn announced on the 3rd that he would unify former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop and opposition candidates independent of the People’s Power of the People’s Competition. Then, it can be interpreted that Chairman Kim also expressed his welcome and that he would speed up the process of selecting candidates for the power of the people themselves.

In the meantime, Chairman Kim has always emphasized that the unification between the National Assembly Representative Chul-soo Ahn and former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop is the first in relation to the unification of opposition candidates. Chairman Kim also criticized Ahn, saying, “It’s a bit unfortunate to see people who are obsessed with becoming a candidate for the Seoul Mayor continue to feel like they’re getting warm.”

Meanwhile, Representative Ahn and Rep. Geum, who agreed to the first unification, will meet at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 4th to conduct practical negotiations on the unification method. The two sides have achieved consensus in the broad direction of trying to unify the candidates for the final opposition once a candidate for the strength of the people is decided after first holding a one-on-one contest.

At the meeting of the two scheduled for this afternoon, it is expected that concrete working-level coordination will take place over the number, method, timing, and method of public opinion polls.

Regarding the unification negotiations at the Supreme Council, Ahn quoted Martin Luther King’s remarks, “The true leader is not the one who seeks consensus, but the one who makes consensus.”
