Open Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Jin-ae remarked on the controversial remarks about women by the controversial Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport candidate Byeon Chang-heum, saying, “It has nothing to do with gender sensitivity.”
Earlier, candidate Byeon was controversial when he said, “If you are a woman, you should be careful to eat breakfast together because of makeup or these things,” at the National Assembly’s National Land Transportation Committee’s personnel hearing on the 23rd. These remarks came from the process of explaining the purpose of what he said in relation to the rental housing’shared restaurant’ business when he was the president of SH (Seoul Housing and Urban Corporation), “Do people who don’t live at home eat rice because they say they’re crazy?”
Regarding this, Rep. Kim said in a parliamentary remark on the afternoon of the 24th, “Rather, as he (candidate Byeon), he was considerate of women,” and pointed out that “my mother is also afraid. There are many people who are afraid of men.” .
To the Homeland Commissioner Jin Seon-mi, who took the remarks of candidate Byun as a problem, he said, “It is not appropriate to frame the candidates,” and said, “I don’t think that is the person who values the chairman’s understanding of gender sensitivity and usual gender sensitivity. “I’m sorry.”
Then, Chairman Jin said, “Looking at the minutes, I never used the word gender sensitivity.” “There were misunderstandings and concerns in the process of explaining another candidate, so I pointed out the part and gave me an opportunity to clarify the mistake. That’s how it was organized,” he refuted.
He continued, “I can say something when I am not conscious of it in my daily life. It was corrected when there was a possibility of misunderstanding, and it is difficult for me to agree to attack it as if I lacked gender sensitivity.” When (Candidate Byun) admitted his mistake, it seemed better.”
Rep. Kim said on a radio broadcast this morning, “This is a completely different problem from gender sensitivity,” and said, “Our old mother, even if you are in your 80s, dress up in the morning, and if you don’t change clothes, you don’t go out in the morning, and don’t mind.” Wrapped the candidate Byun.
