“I said,’High school 3 should reduce sleep more and increase the amount of study,’ but it seems to be helpful to maintain my own lifestyle without being swung over.”

Kim Ji-hoon (18), a third grader at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Yongin (Yongin University of Foreign Affairs High School), who received a perfect score in the humanities field in the 2021 University Aptitude Test (SAT), answered the question about the secret of perfect score for the SAT. “I was nervous that the results of the temporary scoring would be different from the actual grades,” said Kim, saying, “I was relieved only after accepting the report card from my homeroom teacher.”

Even after he turned 3 this year, he exercised every day and used his time efficiently by doing hobbies. “I woke up at 7 am and went to bed at 11 pm. After lunch every day, I played futsal with my friends, and if I need to change my mind sometimes, I watched a movie and fell asleep late,” he said. I said.

Private tutoring was appropriately used as needed. Kim said, “Because of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), there are many days that I cannot attend school, so I often take remote classes and study at school dormitories or at home.” He added, “I didn’t go to academy because it was helpful to organize and understand what I learned by myself, but if I needed more conception while solving a problem, or if I was curious about a different way to solve a problem, I studied the related content through internet lectures.”

Kim explained that he was very interested in education due to the influence of his mother, an elementary school teacher. When I was in trouble, I was able to manage my mind while writing poems. For this reason, I applied to Seoul National University’s Korean Language Education Department, Korea University’s Korean Language Education Department, and Yonsei University’s Department of Education, but did not take the university-specific exams for regular screening. There was a meaning in Korean language education, but recently I am thinking about expanding my career path.

Kim said that he was regretful that he couldn’t play with friends to his heart’s content even after the completion of the SAT because of the Corona 19 situation, and that he plans to finish the remaining entrance exams while preparing for the driver’s license test.
