Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Doo-gwan, who publicly insisted on the impeachment of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, dismissed the concerns of some of the ruling party and emphasized that “protecting the president is to protect democracy.”

In an article posted on Facebook earlier, Congressman Kim said, “Because of the court’s absurd decision, Political Prosecutor General Yoon has returned. It was nothing but a judicial coup that suspended the power of the president elected by the people. “The only option left is impeachment. Kim Doo-Kwan will take the lead,” and sparked the impeachment theory.

Afterwards, some of the ruling party came out saying “impeachment is not a good strategy,” calling for restraint, and congressman Kim posted another post on Facebook on the 26th and insisted that President Yun should be impeached.

He said, “I heard the advice of some lawmakers that institutional reform precedes impeachment, but it is difficult to gain momentum for institutional reform unless the prosecutor general is impeached. It is because of the vested rights alliance of the prosecution, the media, and the opposition party.”

“Since pursuing impeachment does not mean that institutional reform is not impossible, impeachment should be carried out as impeachment, and institutional reform should be pushed separately.” Many fellow lawmakers asked me to join me.”

He also said, “It is to protect democracy to protect the president elected by the people. It is the prosecution who claims to be the indisputable power man who killed President Roh Moo-hyun. He emphasized that the president or anyone can never be safe and there is no democracy unless the prosecutors who have forgotten their duty and decided to become powerful are returned to their place.”
