On the 1st, Kim Dong-sung appeared on TV Chosun’We Got Divorced’ with Min-jung Ren, who is about to marry again, and announced the current status of coaching. In this process, Kim Dong-sung explained that “If you earn 3 million won, you are sending 2 million won to the children.”
On the 2nd, the day after the broadcast, Kim Dong-sung’s former wife, A, said on the website of the Federation for Child Support Resolution, “I made a lie that I gave 3 million won and paid 2 million won when I watched the broadcast. I put it in the remarriage story.”
In addition, Mr. A said, “Since a woman who was punished for attempting to commit a contract murder sold an expensive foreign car and had it in cash, he sent 2 million won for a fixed child support even when he went on golf clubs, rounding, overseas travel, luxury shopping, etc. Or wait,” he said. “It’s been more than two years since I got divorced, so I’ve come to some degree of stability, but because of my dad’s actions, I feel like I’m walking on thin ice.”
On the other hand, there are increasing controversy on the online website saying that Kim Dong-sung has been coaching in the United States since 2005, but was disqualified from the American Ice Skating Federation and was expelled from the American Ice Skating Federation for assaulting a pupil.
In May 2012, the Washington Post reported that “Coach Dongseong Kim was disqualified from the American Ice Skating Federation and was expelled from the American Ice Skating Federation as a result of 18 charges including physical assault, abuse, and coercive behavior against his pupils.”
At that time, Kim Dong-sung claimed that he had not hit his pupils and was unfair, but the American Arbitration Association (AAA) was said to have disqualified Kim Dong-sung from coaching by accepting statements from students and parents.
At the time, the American Ice Skating Federation put on a condition that Kim Dong-sung could recover his coaching qualification if he had to complete the “anger management course” for the next six years, but Kim Dong-sung later returned to Korea and devoted himself to broadcasting activities, so the process was followed. It was not confirmed whether it was completed.
