In this eight-month jury of 21 Polish automobile experts and reporters, Sorento was chosen over the finalists Porsche Taycan, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen ID.3 and Toyota Yaris.
Kia won the award for the second year in a row following the selection of the European strategic crossover model, X Seed, in the ‘2020 Poland Car of the Year’ last year. Sorento was also selected as the SUV of the Year at the ‘2021 Latin Car of the Year’ awards ceremony by Puros Auto, an automobile media specializing in American and Latin American consumers.
Kia plans to target the Latin American market in the US with Sorento. Kia’s US subsidiary is conducting marketing activities using both English and Spanish to target Latin American, which is 18.5% of Americans, and is showing content for Latin American on social network service (SNS) and YouTube.
Telluride, which sold more than 70,000 units in the US last year, is also receiving constant attention. The Car Connection (TCC), an American automotive media outlet, named Telluride as the’best family car to buy in 2021′. TCC selected Telluride as the’best car to buy’ last year, citing Telluride’s spacious space, stylish appearance, excellent basic equipment, and excellent safety specifications as advantages.
Kia’s hatchback Rio was selected in the subcompact hatchback category at the ‘2021 Best Value Award’ hosted by automobile research firm Vincent Rick. Rio was highly evaluated for depreciation and repair costs, which are 3.1% lower than those of the same model.
