[오토트리뷴=김예준 기자] The EV6, Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle, revealed its outline for the first time. On the 9th, Kia unveiled the teaser video and image of EV6, which creatively embodied future-oriented characters, and raised expectations for Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle.
In January, Kia announced its new brand orientation, new mission, logo, and slogan, and announced plans to introduce seven new exclusive electric vehicle lineups by 2027.
EV6 is the first model in Kia’s exclusive electric vehicle lineup developed based on E-GMP and a new logo, and plays a pivotal role in accelerating Kia’s mid- to long-term business strategy plan S along with the popularization of electric vehicles.

The EV6, announcing the beginning of Kia’s electrification strategy, emphasized a futuristic yet original feeling by implementing a dynamic SUV-shaped design optimized for electric vehicles. The EV6’s side silhouette, which was unveiled on this day, features a simple yet sharply trimmed line from the front hood to the rear spoiler, making the vehicle feel richer and sharper.
In particular, the smoothly tilted windshield glass conveys the feeling of hitting quickly, as if representing the dynamics of an electric vehicle.
In addition, the daytime running lights (DRL) on the front apply a’moving light pattern’ designed with inspiration from the electronic pixels that make up the digital image, giving the electric vehicle a refined and smooth impression.
The rear LED cluster located on the rear side is a distinctive element of EV6 that not only plays the role of lighting, but also forms a unique pattern with light as a medium, adding to the future-oriented character of the EV6.

Kia unveiled a new car name system for exclusive electric vehicles consisting of’EV + number’ along with the teaser of EV6. Kia’s exclusive electric vehicle name’EV’ is designed to express Kia’s willingness to lead the global electric vehicle market by using the representative noun that means electric vehicles, and to help customers intuitively recognize that it is a dedicated electric vehicle lineup. In addition, the’number’, which is composed with the vehicle name EV, indicates the position and role within the dedicated electric vehicle lineup.
Kia plans to increase the awareness and familiarity of the’EV’ car name with a new exclusive electric car name system, and to secure consistency by applying the same car name in the global market.
