Those who revealed that they had been sexually assaulted by Ki Sung-yong (32, FC Seoul) when they were in elementary school began to fight back, saying, “The evidence is sufficient and clear.”

Attorney Park Ji-hoon of Hyun Law Firm, the legal representative of those who claim to be victims, repeatedly insisted that everything that was revealed two days ago in a press release on the 26th was true. Attorney Park argued, “We have sufficient and clear evidence,” he said. “In order to protect the minimum personality of Ki Sung-yong, we try to avoid submitting it to Ki Sung-yong or his club as a rule.” However, he also opened the possibility of revealing evidence, saying, “If Ki Sung-yong’s immoral behavior continues, it will inevitably be revealed.

Previously, attorney Park released a press release on the 24th and revealed that C and D, former soccer players, were sexually assaulted by seniors A and B in January-June 2000 while living in a soccer club at an elementary school in Jeonnam. According to attorney Park, the perpetrator A is a star player from the national team who recently joined a prestigious club in the metropolitan area, and Mr. B, who has been a professional player for a short period of time, is currently an adjunct professor at a university in Gwangju.

On the 25th, Seongyong Ki revealed, on his Instagram account, that “the content of the reported article is irrelevant to me and never happened.”

Afterwards, when Ki Sung-yong was designated as the perpetrator A player, Ki Sung-yong’s management company immediately denied the facts and announced a tough response. On the 25th, Ki Sung-yong also rebutted on his social media (SNS), saying, “I don’t think I really need it. The content of the reported article has nothing to do with me. It never happened. I risk my football life.” He added, “Because it wasn’t true, I thought there would be no problem, but I realized that it was a serious issue that threatened the life of football and even my family. As a result, the revelation party came back in one day. Attorney Park also gave an example, saying, “C and D even remember things in great detail that could not be known if they had not experienced it in person.”

Meanwhile, attorney Park admitted that the allegations that C and D were perpetrators of school violence when they were in middle school were true. Attorney Park said, “C and D acknowledge all the school violence they committed in 2004 and sincerely apologize to the victims”. “However, through a thorough investigation, both C and D have been severely disciplined and punished.” He drew a line saying that it was not the essence of this issue.
