KEPCO continued the’hope’ of volleyball in the spring. On the other hand, KB Insurance’s’red light’ turned on in the spring of 10 years of volleyball challenge.

KEPCO won the 2020-21 Dodram V-League KB Insurance Match at the Uijeongbu Gymnasium on the 7th with a set score of 3-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 25-17).

The highest scorer Park Chul-woo (KEPCO) scored the most 21 points (50% success rate) in both teams. Kyle Russell only scored 16 points, but center Shin Young-seok helped the team win with 16 points, including 7 blocking. In KB Insurance, Kim Jung-ho scored 17 points (53.33%), and Jeong Dong-geun (13 points) and Jeong Su-yong (11 points) were also engaged in battle, but they realized Keita Nomori’s injury gap.

KEPCO continued to hope to advance into volleyball in the spring thanks to the veteran’s performance. He scored 42 points for victory that day. KEPCO, which is currently in the 5th place, has created an atmosphere that allows it to enter the top competition at any time. Currently, OK Financial Group in 2nd place and KB Insurance in 3rd place are standing side by side with 47 points and Woori Card in 4th place are in the pursuit.

In the second round, KEPCO recorded 3 wins and 3 losses, respectively, in the 3-4 rounds, which gained momentum after recruiting Shin Young-seok and Hwang Hwang Il by trade. However, after entering the 5th round, the atmosphere was shaken by successive defeats by Woori Card and Hyundai Capital.

So this day’s game was very important. If you lost the game that day, your hopes for volleyball in the spring could be distant. On the 7th, KEPCO broke the KB Insurance and prepared an opportunity to change the atmosphere.

On the other hand, KB Insurance once again felt keenly about the Keita gap.

Keita, who is from Mali, is ranked number one (890 points) this season. It is overwhelmingly ahead of Russell (686 points), second place in the category. The attack success rate was 54.65%, ranking third. Until this day, it occupied a large portion of the team’s attacks, accounting for 54% of KB Insurance’s attack share. KB Insurance Manager Lee Sang-ryul also said, “Give the ball to Keita without any other concerns in the game situation.”

Keita is currently suffering from a thigh injury. On the 3rd, he was missed and was defeated by a 0-3 shut-out in the lead Korean Air match. No player scored double digits. After the game, coach Sang-yeol Lee unusually remarked, “If you want to play volleyball like today (3rd), you have to quit. What if you make it irresponsible?” Afterwards, coach Lee apologized to the players for his hand at the time.

KB Insurance’s last spring volleyball was the 2010-11 season (4th place, quasi-playoffs eliminated). Coach Sang-Ryeol Lee once took the lead in the first season with the’Kita Effect’. KB Insurance is confirming the homework that Keita must overcome before returning to the court.
