Professional volleyball men’s club, KB Insurance Manager Lee Sang-yeol, voluntarily resigned. This is because the fact of the assault 12 years ago was once again on the cutting board.

“Once again, I sincerely apologize to Park Cheol-woo and the volleyball fans for improper behavior 12 years ago,” Lee said through the club. “I resign to have time for self-sufficiency,” he said.

Coach Lee was controversial when he assaulted Park Cheol-woo (KEPCO), who was a national team player in 2009, while serving as a coach for the national team. At the time, Park Chul-woo was covered in scars and attended a press conference to expose all of Lee’s actions.

Coach Lee, who was punished by the Korean Volleyball Association for an indefinite suspension for this incident, returned to Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) competition management committee in 2011, two years later.

Later, he served as a university coach and commentator, and climbed to the KB Insurance Command Tower ahead of this season.

Manager Lee’s behavior was “12 years have passed since the game,” Park Cheol-woo said at a press conference after the game on the 18th of last month. I don’t think it’s justified and packaging.”

Lee, who left the team for a while as public opinion worsened, ended his career as a professional coach with this decision.

Manager Lee said, “I am very grateful and sorry to the players and staff who believed in me and followed me this season. I hope you will do your best until the end of the season.” I will always support KB Volleyball Team with love like now. I am once again sorry to all the fans who love volleyball.”

KB Insurance will accept Lee’s appreciation and plan to pay the rest of the season as a substitute for manager Lee Kyung-soo.
