The controversial male professional volleyball coach Lee Sang-yeol voluntarily resigned as the case of assaulting Park Cheol-woo 12 years ago reignited.
Director Lee announced on the 12th through a press release of KB Insurance, “Once again, I sincerely apologize to Park Cheol-woo and volleyball fans for his inappropriate behavior 12 years ago, and resign to have time for self-sufficiency.”
The KB Insurance Volleyball Team accepted Lee’s appreciation, and for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season, the team decided to operate the team in a coach-centered system, but leave coach Lee Kyung-soo as the manager’s acting role temporarily.
“I really appreciate and apologize to the players and staff who have followed me this season,” Lee hoped, “I hope you will do your best until the end of the season.”

The KB Sonbo team evaluated, “Even though manager Lee Sang-yeol always took the initiative in a short time, he thought about and cared for the player’s eye level and communicated in a comfortable atmosphere.”
