In March, Kakao decided to set up a meeting to directly explain to employees about the controversial personnel evaluation system. Initially, the content was expected to be discussed at an in-house meeting on donation by Chairman Kim Bum-soo, but there was a need to share opinions more closely, so a separate time was prepared.

According to related industries on the 24th, Kakao decided to hold’Open Talk’ on March 11th and discuss the personnel evaluation system and compensation system. Employees can present their opinions here. Management takes part, centering on the Kakao HR team. There is also a possibility that Yeo Min-su and Jo Soo-yong, joint representatives of Kakao, will attend.

The contents were expected to be discussed at’Brian Talk After’, an in-house meeting related to the donation of property by Chairman Kim Bum-soo, which was held on the 25th. However, Kakao decided to set up a separate seat. Although it is possible to present opinions at the conference, we decided that it would be difficult to deal with the issue of Kakao personnel evaluation in a place where all Kakao affiliates’ employees were present, so we set aside a place.

An official from Kakao said, “Open Talk is a place where all employees can freely share their opinions, and we will be able to improve the personnel evaluation system by reflecting the opinions presented on this day.” .

Recently, a problem was raised about Kakao’s personnel evaluation system in the blind app, an anonymous community of office workers. In Kakao’s peer-review system at the end of the year, there is an item that says’I don’t want to work together’, but it was pointed out that this should be improved. It is criticized that the method of sharing the response results with the parties is harsh.
